• General description: Platelet endothelial cell adhesion molecule (PECAM-1) also known as cluster of differentiation 31 (CD31) is a glycoprotein mainly expressed by endothelial cells and platelets. It can be also expressed by some inflammatory cells such as macrophages, granulocytes, NK cells, lymphocytes, and neutrophils.
