  • Specificity: Clone 1F20 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects Calcium Channel- 1C Subunit (CACNA1C). It targets an epitope within 17 amino acids from the 7th cytoplasmic domain within the N-terminal half.
  • Immunogen: KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 17 amino acids from the 7th cytoplasmic domain of human Voltage-dependent L-type calcium channel subunit a-1C (CACNA1C).

  • Target description: Voltage-dependent L-type calcium channel subunit alpha-1C (UniProt: Q13936; also known as Calcium channel, L type, alpha-1 polypeptide, isoform 1, cardiac muscle Voltage-gated calcium channel subunit alpha Cav1.2, CACNA1C) is encoded by the CACNA1C (also known as CACH2, CACN2, CACNl1A1, CCHL1A1) gene (Gene ID: 775) in human. CACNA1C is a multi-pass membrane protein that serves as a pore-forming alpha-1C subunit of the voltage-gated calcium channel that gives rise to L-type calcium currents. It colocalizes with ryanodine receptors in distinct clusters at the junctional membrane, where the sarcolemma and the sarcoplasmic reticulum are in close contact. It mediates the influx of calcium ions into the cytoplasm, and thereby triggers calcium release from the sarcoplasm. It is also reported to play a role in excitation-contraction coupling in the heart and is required for normal heart development and normal regulation of cardiac rhythm. Its phosphorylation by protein kinase A at seine 1981 is shown to activate the channel. CACNA1C is also shown to be essential for normal contraction of smooth muscle cells in blood vessels that is required for normal blood pressure regulation. Its activity can be inhibited by treatment with nifedipine and dihydropyrdines. Mutations in CACNa1C gene are known to cause long QT syndrome that is characterized by a prolonged QT interval on the ECG and polymorphic ventricular arrhythmias. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
  • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
