  • Target description: ETS-related transcription factor Elf-5 (UniProt: Q9UKW6; also known as E74-like factor 5, Epithelium-restricted ESE-1-related Ets factor, Epithelium-specific Ets transcription factor 2, ESE-2) is encoded by the ELF5 (also known as ESE2) gene (Gene ID: 2001) in human. The ETS transcription factors are a large family of proteins that are implicated in the control of cellular proliferation and tumorigenesis. They contain a highly conserved DNA binding domain known as the ETS domain. ELF5 is a transcriptional activator that is expressed in tissues with a high content of epithelial cells. It is highly expressed in salivary gland, mammary gland, kidney, and prostate. Its expression is not observed in hematopoietic compartments. It plays a role in regulating the later stages of keratinocytes terminal differentiation. Its ETS domain is localized to amino acids 173-254. It recognizes and binds to purine rich GGA(A/T) core motifs in the promoters and enhancers of various target genes. It also contains a PNT domain (aa 43-129) that acts as a transcriptional activator. Four isoforms of ELF5 have been described that are produced by alternative splicing. ELF5 is localized to human chromosome 11p13 15, a region that frequently undergoes loss of heterozygosity (LOH) in several types of carcinoma, including breast, kidney, and prostate carcinomas. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.   • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
