  • Target description: Interleukin-6 (UniProt: P05231; also known as IL-6, B-cell stimulatory factor 2, BSF-2, CTL differentiation factor, CDF, Hybridoma growth factor, Interferon beta-2, IFN-beta-2) is encoded by the IL6 (also known as IFNB2) gene (Gene ID: 3569) in human. IL-6 is a proinflammatory cytokine that is synthesized with a signal peptide (aa 1-29), which is subsequently cleaved off to generate the mature form. It is produced by monocytes, endothelial cells, and adipose tissue. IL-6 is involved in a variety of biological functions and is a potent inducer of acute phase response. In the innate immune response. It is synthesized by myeloid cells, such as macrophages and dendritic cells, upon recognition of pathogens through toll-like receptors (TLRs) at the site of infection or tissue injury. However, in the adaptive immune response, it is required for the differentiation of B cells into immunoglobulin-secreting cells. It also plays a major role in the differentiation of CD4+ T cell subsets and in proliferation of myeloma cells and the survival of plasma blast cells. It drives naive CD4+ T cells to the Th17 lineage. IL-6 is reported to discharge into the bloodstream after muscle contraction and increase lipolysis and improves insulin resistance. Rapid production of IL-6 contributes to host defense during infection and tissue injury, but excessive IL-6 synthesis contributes to disease pathology. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.   • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
