Description

  • General description: The Human BLC ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of human BLC in serum, plasma, cell culture supernatants and urine. The EGFR (epidermal growth factor receptor) family includes four receptor tyrosine kinases, EGF R (ErbB1), ErbB2 (neu), ErbB3, and ErbB4.[1][2] EGF R is present on many cell types of epithelial and mesenchymal lineages. The gene EGFR is mapped to human chromosome 7p11.2.[3]
  • Immunogen: EGFR (pTyr1070) synthetic phosphopeptide
  • Application: For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
  • Biochem/physiol Actions: The members of epidermal growth factor receptor (EGF R) or the ErbB receptor family have been identified as useful biomarkers and targets for cancer therapy.[2] EGF R binds EGF and induces tyrosine phosphorylation leading to proliferation of cells.[1] EGF R is capable of binding transforming growth factor-α and heparin-binding EGF in addition to EGF.[4] There are numerous effector molecules activated by EGF R that result in a variety of biological processes such as morphogenesis, cell motility, apoptosis, differentiation and organ repair and maintenance. Deregulation of EGF R signaling is implicated in progression of a wide variety of tumors, invasion and metastasis.[1][4] Phosphorylation of Tyr1068 occurs by autophosphorylation of EGF R and is required for the binding of Grb2 (Growth factor receptor-bound protein 2) and activation of ERK1/2 (extracellular signal-regulated kinases) pathway.[5]
