  • Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature
  • This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid
  • Dilute only prior to immediate use
  • Glycerol Kinase is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
  • Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Glycerol Kinase [Cellulomonas species]
  • Cross reactivity against Glycerol Kinase from other sources is unknown
  • The product of this gene belongs to the FGGY kinase family of proteins and encodes glycerol kinase
  • Glycerol kinase is a key enzyme in the regulation of glycerol uptake and metabolism
  • It catalyzes the phosphorylation of glycerol by ATP, yielding ADP and glycerol-3-phosphate
  • Defects in this gene are the cause of glycerol kinase deficiency (GKD)
  • Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
