- Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Biotin, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Luciferase [Photinus pyralis (Firefly)]
- No reactivity is observed against Sea pansy (Renilla reniformis) luciferase
- Luciferase produces green light with the wavelength of 562 nm
- Luciferase catalyzes the reaction: D-firefly luciferin + O2 + ATP = firefly oxyluciferin + CO2 + AMP + diphosphate + light.
