Description

• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration
• For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature
• This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid
• Dilute only prior to immediate use
• Anti-Folate Binding Protein is an IgG fraction antibody purified from monospecific antiserum by a multi-step process which includes delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
• Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Peroxidase, anti-Goat Serum as well as purified and partially purified Folate Binding Protein [Bovine Milk]
• Cross reactivity against Folate Binding Protein from other sources is unknown
• The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the folate receptor family
• Members of this gene family bind folic acid and its reduced derivatives, and transport 5-methyltetrahydrofolate into cells
• This gene product is a secreted protein that either anchors to membranes via a glycosyl-phosphatidylinositol linkage or exists in a soluble form
• Mutations in this gene have been associated with neurodegeneration due to cerebral folate transport deficiency
• Due to the presence of two promoters, multiple transcription start sites, and alternative splicing, multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein have been found for this gene.
