- Reacts with a 125kDa, disulfide-linked heterodimer composed of a glycosylated heavy chain, type II membrane glycoprotein and a non-glycosylated light chain
- CD98 is broadly expressed on peripheral blood lymphocytes, monocytes and granulocytes (low)
- It is also expressed on non-hemtopoietic cells
