Description

  • This antibody reacts to the methoxy group of Polyethylene glycol (PEG)
  • It is specific for methoxypoly(ethylene glycol)
  • Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems
  • The expression systems are developed by cloning in the specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits
  • Then, individual clones are screened to select the best candidates for production
  • The advantages of using recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies include: better specificity and sensitivity, lot-to-lot consistency, animal origin-free formulations, and broader immunoreactivity to diverse targets due to larger rabbit immune repertoire
  • PEG recruits the serine/threonine-protein phosphatase PP1 to dephosphorylate the translation initiation factor eIF-2A/EIF2S1, thereby reversing the shut-off of protein synthesis initiated by stress-inducible kinases and facilitating recovery of cells from stress
  • Down-regulates the TGF-beta signaling pathway by promoting dephosphorylation of TGFB1 by PP1
  • May promote apoptosis by inducing TP53 phosphorylation on 'Ser-15'.
