  • A 1:1,000 dilution of PA5-77811 was sufficient for detection of UVRAG on HeLa cell lysates using Goat anti-rabbit IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody.∣Predicted molecular weight at approximately 78.1kDa
  • Observed molecular weights in the 75-90kDa range
  • UVRAG is predicted to contain a coiled-coil structure and is likely to be metabolically unstable based on the occurrence of a strong PEST domain
  • It interacts with Beclin 1, leading to activation of autophagy and thereof inhibition of tumorigenicity of human colon cancer cells
  • The gene for UVRAG protein is localized on human chromosome 11q13
  • 5 and complements the μgtraviolet sensitivity of xeroderma pigmentosum group C cells
  • The gene has been extremely well conserved during evolution, implying an important role for this gene product in cell metabolism
  • Chromosomal aberrations involving this gene are associated with left-right axis malformation, and mutations in this gene have been associated with colon cancer
