Description
- General description: Diacylglycerol/diglyceride (DAG) is a glycerolipid, that is located at the plasma membrane.[1] It is made up of two fatty acid chains that are covalently attached to a single glycerol molecule with the help of an ester linkage.[2]
- Application: 18:1 DG has been used as a diacyl-glycerol source in diacylglycerol O-acyltransferase 1 (DGAT1) assay.[3] It has also been used as substrate to assess compounds as potential inhibitors of DGAT-1 in DGAT-1 enzyme assay.[4] It is suitable to use in lipid-protein overlay screen assay with the recombinant protein His-AtROP6.
- Packaging: 5 mL PTFE Vial with Screw Cap (800811O-10mg)
- Storage and Stability: Diacylglycerols are conveniently stored in chloroform solutions in glass vials with PTFE-lined caps at -20°C. Under these conditions acyl migration is minimal. Avoid plastic when handling chloroform solutions.
- Other Notes: Delivery to cells:Dry samples of diacylglycerol in chloroform, using a stream of nitrogen. Dissolve the residue in an appropriate volume of ethanol or DMSO, then dilute to the desired aqueous medium.
