  • Human BACE2 (residues 441-457) Synthetic Peptide, PEP-166, from Invitrogen
  • BACE2 or Beta Secretase 2 is responsible for the proteolytic processing of the amyloid precursor protein (APP)
  • BACE2 cleaves APP between residues 690 and 691
  • This cleavage leads to the generation and extracellular release of beta-cleaved soluble APP
  • BACE2 is also know to cleave APP between residues 671 and 672
  • Accumulation of APP is a signature of Alzheimer disease and frequent complication of adult Down syndrome patients
  • PEP-166 is an 18 amino acid synthetic peptide whose sequence is derived from human BACE2 protein
  • The sequence of this peptide is (amino to carboxy terminus): V (441)-S-E-I-S-G-P-F-S-T-E-D-I-A-S-N-C (457)This peptide may be used for neutralization and control experiments with the polyclonal antibody that reacts with this product and human BACE2, catalog &Num PA1-753
