Description

• General description: Maleimide Activated BSA is provided in lyophilized, ready to-use form, eliminating the need for time-consuming activation and purification steps of the carrier protein. Maleimide Activated BSA contains approximately 5-15 maleimide groups for each BSA molecule.. The conjugation reaction with a cysteine containing peptide is performed at pH 6.6-7.0. The extent of conjugation can then be determined by a colorimetric assay with Ellman′s reagent) to detect unreacted thiol groups in the cysteine-containing peptide.
• Application: Maleimide Activated BSA has been used in peptide conjugation.[1]
• Physical form: Each vial contains 5 mg of Maleimide Activated BSA lyophilized from 10 mM sodium phosphate buffer, pH 6.6, with 0.115 mM NaCl, 1 mM EDTA, and 40 mM sucrose as stabilizer.
