Description
- General description: Nerve growth factor-β (NGF-β) belongs to the neurotrophin family.[1] The active form of human NGF-β is a homodimer, non-glycosylated chain.[2]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Nerve growth factor-β (NGF-β) is a potent neurotrophic factor that supports the growth and survivability of nerve and/or glial cells.[1] It brings pro-survival effects with the help of receptor tyrosine kinase TrkA.[3] NGF-β is associated with diabetic neuropathy and ischemic heart disease.[1] It is also involved in airway nerve system.[4] NGF-β is also responsible for the pain which is linked with osteoarthritis (OA).[5] It is involved in liver fibrosis, carcinogenesis, angiogenesis and cholangiocyte proliferation.[6]
- Physical form: Lyophilized without any additives.
- Reconstitution: Centrifuge the vial prior to opening. Avoid freeze-thaw cycles.
