Description

  • General description: Lot specific orders are not able to be placed through the web. Contact your local sales rep for more details.Canine osteoblasts provide an excellent model system for studies relevant to the skeletal system, including mechanisms of cancerogenesis.Canine osteoblasts have been used to define a biomarker profile of canine osteosarcoma (Milovancev, 2013), elucidate the roles of oncogenic STAT3 (Fossey, 2009, 2011) and canonical Wnt signaling (Piskun, 2013) pathways, and to develop personalized osteosarcoma treatments by testing Src inhibitor dasatinib (Davis, 2013), procaspase-3 activating compound PAC-1 (Book, 2012), HSP90 inhibitor STA-1474 (McCleese, 2009) and STAT3 inhibitor LLL12 (Couto, 2012, 2013). Characterization: Positive for bone mineralization.
  • Cell Line Origin: Bone
  • Application: model for skeletal system research, signaling pathways, bone morphogenesis, gene expression, cell activation and proliferation, wound healing, bone formation and regeneration, treatment strategies, tissue engineering, in vitro bone models, mineralization, hormone treatments
  • Components: Canine Osteoblast Basal Medium containing 10% FBS & 10% DMSO
  • Preparation Note: 1st passage, >500,000 cells in Canine Osteoblast Basal Medium containing 10% FBS & 10% DMSO Can be cultured at least 10 doublings
  • Subculture Routine: Please refer to the CnOb Culture Protocol.
