- General description: Tris(2-carboxyethyl)-phosphine hydrochloride (TCEP) is a strong reducing agent that is stable in an aqueous solution.[1][2] It readily and stoichiometrically reduces disulfides with high specificity.[1] TCEP exhibits reducing activity at pH 1.5 to pH 9.0 and reduces dehydroascorbic acid (DHA) at pH 4.[2]
- Application: Tris(2-carboxyethyl)phosphine hydrochloride has been used:as a component of IRE1 dialysis buffer, RNA cleavage buffer, and in in vitro cleavage assay of in vitro transcribed RNA[3] in reducing sulfhydryl groups to obtain total thiol fraction[4]to reduce protein samples[5]
