Description
- General description: TopFluor has a moiety, called dipyrromethene boron difluoride. This fluorescent molecule is covalently attached to various lipid molecules.[1] Phosphoethanolamine is a precursor to phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine.[2]
- Application: TopFluor® PE may be used as a fluorescently labeled lipid to replace the head labeled lipid (TFPE-head) to study the fusion efficiency of liposomes.[3] It has also been used in the preparation of liposome.[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Phosphoethanolamine participates in phospholipid metabolism.[5] It has the ability to repress tumor growth both in vitro and in vivo.[6]
