Description
- General description: Phosphatidylcholines (PCs) are amphipathic molecules. PC accounts for approximately 40–50% of the total cellular phospholipids. They are usually located on the outer leaflets of the biological membrane bilayer.[1]
- Application: 15:0 PC (1,2-dipentadecanoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used to prepare giant unilamellar lipid vesicles (GUVs).[2] It has been used as an internal standard for lipidomics analysis in BXD liver samples[3] and plasma samples.[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Phosphatidylcholine (PC) may play a vital role in the signaling of neuronal differentiation.[5]
