Description
- General description: Phosphatidylcholine (PC) is a strong bilayer-forming lipid. It is the most common phospholipid in mammalian membranes.[1]
- Application: 16:0-14:0 PC (1-palmitoyl-2-myristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine) may be used in the monolayer to study the interfacial behavior of cholesterol, ergosterol and lanosterol.[2] It may also be used as an inhibitor for screening recombinant human UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) .(3)
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Phosphatidylcholine (PC) lowers the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.[2]
