Bicelle Kit

Description

• General description: Bicelle kit contains 200mg of dimyristoylphosphatidylcholine (DMPC), 200mg of dimyristoylphosphatidylglycerol (DMPG), 1g of 3-[(3-cholamidopropyl)-dimethylammonio]-1-propane sulfonate (CHAPS) and 1g of 3-(cholamidopropyl)dimethylammonio-2-hydroxy-1-propane-sulfonate (CHAPSO). Bicelle is a discoidal lipid aggregate. A bicelle consists of a planar bilayer at the center made of long-chain phospholipids, which are encircled by a detergent layer. The planar bilayer is generally composed of DMPC, which may have phospholipids such as (DMPG) for alteration of charge of the membrane. The detergent layer is composed of bile salt derivative, such as CHAPSO.
