  • General description: Potassium acetate (KAc) is an acetate salt of a weak acid and a strong base.[1] It serves as a buffering agent, maintaining optimal pH levels for enzymatic reactions and protein studies. KAc compatibility with biological systems makes it a preferred choice for the isolation, purification, and analysis of biomolecules. Further, Its ability to stabilize enzymes and maintain optimal conditions in biological assays makes it indispensable in biochemical research. Furthermore, KAc is an excellent choice for chromatography and electrophoresis techniques, facilitating the separation and analysis of biomolecules.[2]
