  • General description: Poliothyrsoside, also known as Nigracin, is a phenolic glycoside compound commonly found in plants such as Flacourtia indica, Loxocalyx urticifolius, Hydnocarpus annamensis, Xylosma flexuosa, Poliothyrsis sinensis, and Scolopia spinosa. Existing research suggests that this plant-derived metabolite exerts various biological activities, antioxidant, antidiabetic, anti-alzheimers and antiplasmodial properties.

  • Biochem/physiol Actions: Poliothyrsoside is a pyruvic transaminase inhibitor known for its insulin-sensitizing effects in cell culture.
