Description

  • General description: We are committed to bringing you greener alternative products, which adhere to one or more of the 12 Principles of Green Chemistry. This antibody is preservative-free, produced without the harm or sacrifice of animals and exceptionally stable to allow for ambient shipping and storage if needed, and thus aligns with "Waste Prevention", "Designing Safer Chemicals" and "Design for Energy Efficiency". Click here for more information.
  • Specificity: Clone 1L3 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects MAVS. It targets an epitope within 23 amino acids from the N-terminal cytoplasmic domain.
  • Immunogen: KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 23 amino acids from the N-terminal cytoplasmic domain of human MAVS.
  • Application: Quality Control TestingEvaluated by Western Blotting in U-2 OS cell lysate.Western Blotting Analysis: A 1:1,000 dilution of this antibody detected MAVS in U-2 OS cell lysate.Tested ApplicationsAffinity Binding Assay: A representative lot of this antibody bound MAVS peptide with at least one thousand-fold (1,000X)) higher than with non-specific control peptide.Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin) Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected MAVS in human kidney tissue sections.Immunocytochemistry Analysis: Immunocytochemistry Analysis: A 1:100 dilution from a representative lot detected MAVS in HeLa cells. Note: Actual optimal working dilutions must be determined by end user as specimens, and experimental conditions may vary with the end user.
  • Target description: Mitochondrial antiviral-signaling protein (UniProt: Q7Z434; also known as CARD adapter inducing interferon beta;Interferon beta promoter stimulator protein 1 (IPS-1), Putative NF-kappa-B-activating protein 031N, Virus-induced-signaling adapter (VISA)) is encoded by the MAVS (also known as IPS1, KIAA1271, VISA) gene (Gene ID: 57506) in human. Mitochondrial antiviral-signaling protein (MAVS) is a key adaptor molecule in the innate immune response to viral infection. It is characterized by a caspase activation and recruitment domain (CARD) at its N-terminus, a proline-rich region, and a C-terminal transmembrane domain that anchors it to the outer mitochondrial membrane. The CARD domain is crucial for its interaction with other CARD-containing proteins like RIG-I and MDA5, which detect viral RNA. MAVS plays a role the signal transduction from RIG-I-like receptors (RLRs) that recognize viral RNA, leading to the activation of transcription factors such as NF- B and IRFs (Interferon Regulatory Factors). This results in the expression of type I interferons and other inflammatory cytokines, which are essential components of the antiviral response. MAVS is expressed in a variety of cell types, reflecting its broad role in the innate immune response. MAVS has been implicated in several diseases due to its central role in antiviral immunity. Inefficient MAVS signaling can lead to increased susceptibility to viral infections, while overactive MAVS signaling can result in excessive inflammation. MAVS activity has been associated with autoimmune diseases (type I diabetes, systemic lupus erythematosus) and chronic inflammatory diseases such as hepatitis.
  • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
