• Letheen Agar Modified is based on the formula in the Bacteriological Analytical Manual for use in the microbiological testing of cosmetics 3
• It is recommended by the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) for cultivation of microorganisms from cosmetic sampling 4

• Sodium bisulfite neutralizes quaternary ammonium compounds, lecithin and polysorbate 80 partially inactivate quaternary ammonium compounds, phenolic compounds, formalin, hexachlorophene and ethanol
• Incorporation of lecithin and polysorbate 80 to the medium enables the recovery of bacteria from materials containing residues of disinfectant compounds or preservatives used in cosmetics
• Dextrose is a carbon source
