• General description: CLEC4D (C-type lectin domain family 4, member D) is a cell surface type II membrane glycoprotein. It is a member of the calcium-dependent lectin family (C-type lectin). It is expressed in the bone marrow, spleen, telomeric region of the NK (natural killer) gene complex and lesser extent in lung and lymph nodes. It is mainly involved in the macrophage functioning. In humans, the expression of CLEC4D is up-regulated by IL6, TNF, IFNγ, and IL10.
