• General description: The insulinoma associated protein tyrosine phosphatase 2 (IA-2)/ PTPRN is a transmembrane glycoprotein of 106 kDa. Its expression is seen in neuroendocrine cells. IA-2 is a member of the protein tyrosine phosphatase (PTP) family. It has three domains, such as the extracellular domain, intracellular domain and a single transmembrane domain. This gene is mapped to human chromosome 2q35.
• Immunogen: Receptor-type tyrosine-protein phosphatase-like N precursor recombinant protein epitope signature tag (PrEST)

• Biochem/physiol Actions: PTPRN (Protein tyrosine phosphatase, receptor type, N) is involved in the neuroendocrine secretory processes such as biogenesis, trafficking or regulated exocytosis. A study shows that PTPRN is associated with the type 1 diabetes development.
