• General description: Cluster of differentiation 28 (CD28) antigen is a co-stimulatory receptor expressed in naive T-cells.[52} It contains a short cytoplasmic tail and two proline-rich motifs. CD28 is encoded by the gene mapped to human chromosome 2q33.2.
• Immunogen: DC28.1.3.3 hybridoma cells
• Application: The reagent is designed for Flow Cytometry analysis. Suggested working dilution for Flow Cytometry is 2-8 μg/mL of sample. Indicated dilution is recommended starting point for use of this product. Working concentrations should be determined by the investigator.
• Biochem/physiol Actions: Cluster of differentiation 28 (CD28) antigen has a role in T-cell activation, proliferation, survival and function. It modulates thymic development, peripheral homeostasis and the suppressive functions of regulatory T cells. CD28 has a role in signal transduction and is involved in activating many adaptor proteins. Mutation in the gene increases the risk of susceptibility to rheumatoid arthritis.
