• Specificity: Clone 5J13 ZooMAb is a rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that specifically detects TATA-box-binding protein. It targets an epitope with in 57 amino acids from the N-terminal region.
• Immunogen: GST/Hig-tagged recombinant fragment corresponding to the first 57 amino acids from the N-terminal region of human TATA-box-binding protein.
• Application: Anti-TATA-Binding-Protein, clone 5J13 ZooMAb , Cat. No. ZRB1106, is a recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically targets TATA-Binding-Protein and has been tested for use in Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry (Paraffin), and Western Blotting.
• Target description: TATA-box-binding protein (UniProt: P20226; also known as TATA sequence-binding protein, TATA-binding factor, TATA-box factor, Transcription initiation factor TFIID TBP subunit) is encoded by the TBP (also known as GTF2D1, TF2D, TFIID) gene (Gene ID: 6908) in human. TATA-box-binding protein is a general transcription factor that functions at the core of the DNA-binding multiprotein factor TFIID. Binding of TFIID to the TATA box is the initial transcriptional step of the pre-initiation complex (PIC), playing a role in the activation of eukaryotic genes transcribed by RNA polymerase II. It is a part of the RNA polymerase II eukaryotic transcription complex and is required for the transcriptional initiation of RNA polymerases. TATA-box-binding protein is widely expressed, with levels highest found in the testis and ovary. Mutations in TBP result in spinocerebellar ataxia type 17(SCA17), a cerebellar disorder classified as autosomal dominant cerebellar ataxia and characterized by atrophy to the cerebellar and cerebral regions, extrapyramidal signs, and dementia. • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose. Normal appearance is a coarse or translucent resin. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
• Reconstitution: 30 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
• Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
