  • Target description: Myogenin (UniProt: P15173; also known as Class C basic helix-loop-helix protein 3, bHLHc3, Myogenic factor 4, Myf-4) is encoded by the MYOG (also known as BHLHC3, MYF4) gene (Gene ID: 4656) in human. Myogenin is a muscle-specific basic-helix-loop-helix (bHLH) transcription factor that is involved in the coordination of skeletal muscle development and repair. It acts as a transcriptional activator to promote transcription of muscle-specific target genes and plays a role in muscle differentiation and muscle atrophy. It is shown to be essential for the development of functional embryonic skeletal fiber muscle differentiation. However, it is dispensable for postnatal skeletal muscle growth. It facilitates cell cycle exit during terminal muscle differentiation through the up-regulation of miR-20a expression, which in turn represses genes involved in cell cycle progression. Myogenin is a homodimeric protein that can also heterodimerize with E12 and heterodimerization enhances its DNA-binding and transcriptional activities. Myogenin can be phosphorylated by CAMK2G on threonine and serine residues in a muscle activity-dependent manner. Phosphorylation of threonine 87 is reported to impair its DNA-binding and trans-activation/functions in contracting muscles. Myogenin expression has also been reported in rhabdomyosarcomas and it is used as diagnostic markers to identify the disease. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our propriety technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.   • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS, 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 μL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 μg/mL after reconstitution at 25 μL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 μL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
