  • Specificity: Clone 1F22-L2 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects Interleukin-2. It targets an epitope within 17 amino acids from the internal part of the protein.

  • Target description: Interleukin-2 (UniProt: P60568; also known as T-cell growth factor (TCGF), Aldesleukin) is encoded by the IL2 gene (Gene ID: 3558) in human. Interleukin-2 (IL-2) Cytokine produced by activated CD4-positive helper T-cells and to a lesser extend activated CD8-positive T-cells and natural killer (NK) cells. IL-2 plays a crucial role in regulating the growth, activation, and differentiation of various immune cells. IL-2 consists of a four-helix bundle and belongs to the four-helix cytokine family. It interacts with specific receptors on the surface of target cells, initiating signaling pathways that lead to immune cell activation and proliferation. IL-2 supports the growth and survival of T cells. It acts as a growth factor for T cells and stimulates their differentiation into effector cells, such as cytotoxic T cells and regulatory T cells. IL-2 also enhances the production of other cytokines and promotes the development of long-lasting immune responses. IL-2 is produced by various immune cells, including activated T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. Its expression is tightly regulated and can be induced by immune activation and antigen stimulation. IL-2 expression levels can vary depending on the immune cell type, activation status, and surrounding microenvironment. IL-2 plays a critical role in numerous immune-related diseases and conditions. For example, deficiencies or dysregulation of IL-2 signaling can lead to immune dysfunction and result in autoimmune disorders, immunodeficiency diseases, and certain types of cancers. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our proprietary technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
  • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
