  • Specificity: Clone 1N22 is a ZooMAb® rabbit recombinant monoclonal antibody that detects HPF1. It targets an epitope within 22 amino acids from the N-terminal region.

  • Target description: Histone PARylation factor 1 (UniProt: Q9NWY4) is encoded by the HPF1 (also known as C4orf27) gene (Gene ID: 54969) in human. Polyadenylate-binding protein 1 (PABP1) is distinguished by its four RNA recognition motifs (RRMs), which are essential for binding to the poly(A) tail of mRNA. It also features a C-terminal domain that facilitates interactions with various proteins, enhancing its role in post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression. PABP1 is crucial in the regulation of mRNA stability and translation. It binds to the poly(A) tails of mRNAs, protecting them from degradation and enhancing their translational efficiency. PABP1 also plays a role in the initiation of translation by interacting with the translation initiation complex and circularizing mRNA to promote reinitiation. PABP1 is ubiquitously expressed across different tissues, reflecting its fundamental role in cellular processes. Its expression may be modulated in response to cellular stress or developmental cues, underlining its adaptiveness in regulatory processes. Alterations in PABP1 function or expression are linked to several pathologies. In cancer, overexpression of PABP1 can lead to the enhanced stability and translation of oncogenic mRNAs, promoting tumor progression. Conversely, reduced PABP1 activity might contribute to neurodegenerative diseases by impairing mRNA stabilization and translation, crucial for neuron function and survival. Additionally, PABP1 is implicated in viral infections, as viruses often exploit it to optimize the translation of viral proteins.
  • Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
  • Reconstitution: 300 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
  • Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
