• Specificity: Clone 1B21 is a ZooMAb® recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody that specifically detects T-box protein 21 (TBX21) protein. It targets an epitope within 23 amino acids from the C-terminal half.
• Immunogen: KLH-conjugated linear peptide corresponding to 23 amino acids from the C-terminal half of human T-box protein 21 (TBX21).

• Target description: T-box transcription factor TBX21 ( UniProt: Q9UL17; also known as T-box protein 21) is encoded by TBX21 gene (Gene ID: 30009) in human. Its expression is primarily T-cell specific and also expressed in Bone marrow, lung and lymphoid tissue. It is a member of a phylogenetically conserved family of genes that share a common DNA-binding domain, the T-box. Tbox genes encode transcription factors involved in the regulation of developmental processes. Studies in mouse show that TBX21 protein is a Th1 cell-specific transcription factor that controls the expression of the hallmark Th1 cytokine, interferon-gamma. Expression of the human ortholog also correlates with IFN-G expression in Th1 and natural killer cells, suggesting a role for this gene in initiating Th1 lineage development from naive Th precursor cells. TBX21 initiates TH1 lineage development from naive TH precursor cells both by activating TH1 genetic programs and by repressing the opposing TH2 programs. Its function is vital in the immune system, influencing the body′s ability to defend against pathogens and maintain immune homeostasis. This ZooMAb® recombinant monoclonal antibody, generated by our proprietary technology, offers significantly enhanced specificity, affinity, reproducibility, and stability over conventional monoclonals.
• Physical form: Purified recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibody IgG, lyophilized in PBS with 5% Trehalose, normal appearance a coarse or translucent resin. The PBS/trehalose components in the ZooMAb formulation can have the appearance of a semi-solid (bead like gel) after lyophilization. This is a normal phenomenon. Please follow the recommended reconstitution procedure in the data sheet to dissolve the semi-solid, bead-like, gel-appearing material. The resulting antibody solution is completely stable and functional as proven by full functional testing. Contains no biocide or preservatives, such as azide, or any animal by-products. Larger pack sizes provided as multiples of 25 µL.
• Reconstitution: 300 µg/mL after reconstitution at 25 µL per vial. Please refer to guidance on suggested starting dilutions and/or titers per application and sample type.
• Storage and Stability: Recommend storage of lyophilized product at 2-8°C; Before reconstitution, micro-centrifuge vials briefly to spin down material to bottom of the vial; Reconstitute each vial by adding 25 µL of filtered lab grade water or PBS; Reconstituted antibodies can be stored at 2-8°C, or -20°C for long term storage. Avoid repeated freeze-thaws.
