- General description: The Apelin C-Terminus Enzyme Immunoassay (EIA) Kit is an in vitro quantitative assay for detecting Apelin C-Terminus peptide based on the principle of Competitive Enzyme Immunoassay. The EIA-APC-1 kit detects all active Apelin peptides, including Apelin-13, Apelin-28, Apelin-31 and Apelin-36.

- Application: For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.Apelin EIA kit has been used to determine the concentration of apelin in pre-adipocyte growth medium.[1]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Apelin (APLN) is secreted by white adipose tissue. It is an adipokine which has a role in tumor cell progression and vascularization. The protein may have a role in obesity-related disorders. APLN is involved in modulating energy homeostasis, water balance, glucose metabolism and immunity. It has been shown to be upregulated in many cancers.[2][3][4][5]
