- General description: The Mouse IL-1 β ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse IL-1 β cell lysate and tissue lysate.
- Immunogen: Recombinant Mouse IL-1 β
- Application: For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Interleukin 1 β (IL-1β) stimulates the production of endogenous 92 kDa gelatinase (matrix metalloproteinases 9 (MMP-9)) and tissue inhibitors of MMP (TIMP -1).[3] It is a proinflammatory cytokine that induces various acute and chronic inflammation. Therefore, IL-1β can be considered as a potential therapeutic target for disease associated with fibrosis and tissue remodeling.[4] IL-1β brings neutrophil and macrophage to the site of infection.[5] Over expression of IL-1β in synovial fluid contributes to the pathogenesis of synovitis and degenerative changes of the cartilaginous tissue and bone of the temporomandibular joint.[6] Mutations in IL-1β gene leads to renal manifestations and renal sequelae in Henoch-Schonlein purpura (HSP).[7]
