- General description: The Mouse VEGF ELISA (Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay) kit is an in vitro enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay for the quantitative measurement of mouse VEGF cell lysate and tissue lysate.

- Application: For research use only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures.Please refer to the attached General ELISA KIT Procedure (sandwich, competitive & Indirect ELISA)
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is a critical factor in regulating angiogenesis in both physiological and pathological conditions.[5] Transforming growth factor-α (TGF-α), TGF-β and platelet derived growth factor can potentially activate VEGF activity.[6] VEGF mediates its activity through tyrosine kinase receptors, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor-1 (VEGFR-1) and VEGFR-2.[6] VEGF produced by tumour cells and macrophages, plays a key role in cancer development by promoting endothelial cells proliferation and increasing vascular permeability.[5] Enhanced expression of VEGF plays a key role in urologic neoplasm like bladder cancer, renal cell carcinoma,[6] and cervical cancer.[7] Polymorphism in VEGF gene increases the disease susceptibility.[6][7] Blocking of VEGF mediated signalling pathway is a potential therapeutic strategy for cancer patients.[5][6]
