BCIP®/NBT-Blue Liquid Substrate System for Membranes

Description

• General description: Nitroblue Tetrazolium (NBT) is used with the alkaline phosphatase substrate 5-bromo4-chloro-3-indolyl phosphate (BCIP) in western blotting and immunohistological staining procedures. These substrate systems produce an insoluble NBT diformazan end-product that is blue to purple and can be observed visually. BCIP®/NBT-blue liquid substrate system for membranes is a specifically formulated liquid enzyme substrate that is stable and optimized for blotting applications offers maximum convenience, time savings, and consistency.
• Application: BCIP®/NBT-Blue Liquid Substrate System for Membranes has been used in colorimetric detection of alkaline phosphatase (ALP) activity[1][2] such as western blot analysis.[3]
• Caution: Stable at least one year at 2-8 °C. This substrate is light-sensitive.
• Other Notes: Not recommended for microwell (e.g., ELISA) or immunohistochemical applications.
