• Description: This PLK-1 monoclonal antibody recognizes human MARCO, also known as SR-A6 or SCARA2
• Applications Reported: This PLK-1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: This PLK-1 antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human monocyte-derived macrophages
• This may be used at 5 μL (0.06 μg) per test
• A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL
• Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test

• As a part of the innate antimicrobial immune system, MARCO can bind both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria via an extracellular, C-terminal, scavenger receptor cysteine-rich (SRCR) domain
• In addition to short cytoplasmic and transmembrane domains, there is an extracellular spacer domain and a long, extracellular collagenous domain
• The protein may form a trimeric molecule by the association of the collagenous domains of three identical polypeptide chains
• Due to its expression in tumor infiltrating macrophages, and its role in inhibiting immune responses within tumor environment, MARCO has been indicated as a potential target for cancer immunotherapy.
