• Description: This MR54 monoclonal antibody reacts with human Trop-2, which is also known as Tumor-Associated Calcium Signal Transducer 2 (TACSTD2) and EGP-1
• This type I transmembrane glycoprotein is expressed on trophoblast (syncytiotrophoblast and cytotrophoblast), epithelial, and most human carcinoma cells
• Trop-2 plays a role in calcium-mediated signaling
• Trop-2 has also been reported as an oncogene, with expression being correlated with tumorigenesis, metastasis, and anchorage-independent growth
• Applications Reported: This MR54 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: This MR54 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of MCF7 cell line
• This can be used at 5 μL (0.125 μg) per test
• A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL
• Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test

• Mutations of its gene result in gelatinous drop-like corneal dystrophy, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by severe corneal amyloidosis leading to blindness.
