Description

• Description: This AD2.38 monoclonal antibody reacts with human, mouse, and rat Pax6
• This 47-kDa transcription factor is expressed during embryonic neurogenesis in the brain and central nervous system, as well as in neuroepithelial cells of the retina
• Pax6 is involved in development of the eyes, nose, central nervous system, pancreas, and pituitary gland
• Studies also demonstrate that Pax6 is crucial for alpha-cell differentiation and glucagon biosynthesis in the pancreas
• Mutation of Pax6 results in eye disorders such as aniridia in humans and Small eye in mice
• Applications Reported: This AD2.38 antibody has been reported for use in immunoblotting (WB) and immunocytochemistry
• Applications Tested: This AD2.38 antibody has been tested by immunocytochemistry of fixed and permeabilized MV+ cells
• This antibody can be used at less than or equal to 5 μg/mL
• It is recommended that this antibody be carefully titrated for optimal performance in the assay of interest
• Purity: Greater than 90%, as determined by SDS-PAGE

• This gene is expressed in the developing nervous system, and in developing eyes
• Mutations in this gene are known to cause ocular disorders such as aniridia and Peter's anomaly
• Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding either the same or different isoform have been found for this gene.
