Description

  • Description: The HP-3D9 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD94, a 70-kDa type II transmembrane glycoprotein
  • CD94 belongs to the C-type lectin superfamily and is expressed by NK cells, NKT cells, as well as subsets of CD8+ T cells and gamma delta T cells
  • This molecule is present as a heterodimer with members of the NKG2 family of receptors on the cell surface
  • CD94 dimerization with NKG2A results in an inhibitory receptor that suppresses NK cell function
  • In contrast, CD94 association with NKG2C and NKG2E leads to formation of an activating receptor complex that binds DAP12, an adapter protein that contains an ITAM motif
  • The CD94/NKG2 receptor complex binds the non-classical MHC Class Ib molecule HLA-E and plays important roles in adhesion and NK cell activation
  • Crossblocking studies indicate that HP-3D9 and DX22 recognize the same epitope
  • Applications Reported: This HP-3D9 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis
  • Applications Tested: This HP-3D9 antibody has been pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells
  • This can be used at 5 μL (0.125 μg) per test
  • A test is defined as the amount (μg) of antibody that will stain a cell sample in a final volume of 100 μL
  • Cell number should be determined empirically but can range from 10^5 to 10^8 cells/test

  • KLRD1 (CD94) is an antigen preferentially expressed on NK cells and is classified as a type II membrane protein because it has an external C terminus
  • Three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms have been found for this gene.
