- The BerH8 monoclonal antibody specifically binds to CD30, a 120 kDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on stimulated T and B cells
- CD30 is an activation marker initially identified to be expressed on Reed-Sternberg cells
- It is also expressed on a few extrafollicular T and B cells located at the rim of germinal centers
- CD30 serves as a cytokine receptor
- It belongs to the nerve growth factor receptor/tumor necrosis factor receptor (NGFR/TNFR) superfamily and is also known as TNFRSF8
- CD30 interaction with CD30 ligand (CD30L/CD153/TNFSF8) can mediate signals for proliferation, apoptosis and cytotoxicity of lymphoid cells
- The antibody was conjugated to BD Horizon™ BV786 which is part of the BD Horizon Brilliant™ Violet family of dyes
- This dye is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 with an Ex Max of 405nm and an acceptor dye with an Em Max at 786nm
- BD Horizon BV786 can be excited by the violet laser and detected in a filter used to detect Cy™7-like dyes (eg, 780/60nm filter)
- BV786 is a tandem fluorochrome of BD Horizon BV421 and an acceptor dye with an emission maximum at 786 nm
- BV786 offers a bright choice for the 6th detector off the violet laser.
