Description
- MA5-17009 contains a monoclonal mixture of FITC-conjugated CD4 (clone #YTS191.1, Rat IgG2b) and RPE-conjugated CD8 (clone #KT15, Rat IgG2a)
- This antibody is a dual-color reagent recognizing mouse CD4 and CD8 cell surface antigens
- Clone YTS191.1 recognizes murine CD4, a T cell differentiation antigen expressed on thymocytes and helper/inducer T cells in the peripheral blood
- Clone KT15 recognizes a non-polymorphic epitope on the murine CD8 alpha chain
- Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water
- After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4oC in the dark
- For FACS analysis, use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 μL
- CD4, a single chain transmembrane glycoprotein, is found on a T cell subset (helper/inducer) representing 45% of peripheral blood lymphocytes
- It is also present on 80% of thymocytes and at a lower level on monocytes
- It is involved in recognition of antigen presented along with MHC class II by APCs
- It serves as receptor for HIV
- The CD8 antigen is a cell surface glycoprotein found on most cytotoxic T lymphocytes that mediates efficient cell-cell interactions within the immune system
- The CD8 antigen acts as a corepressor with the T-cell receptor on the T lymphocyte to recognize antigens displayed by an antigen presenting cell (APC) in the context of class I MHC molecules
- The coreceptor functions as either a homodimer composed of two alpha chains, or as a heterodimer composed of one alpha and one beta chain
- Both alpha and beta chains share significant homology to immunoglobulin variable light chains.
