Description

• General description: Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards. Vancomycin hydrochloride is a glycopeptide antibiotic, effective for the treatment of endocarditis caused by Gram-positive bacteria.[1][2] It is used to inhibit the synthesis of bacterial cell wall and prevents the synthesis of peptidoglycan by binding tightly to peptides containing D-alanyl-D-alanine at the free carboxyl end. It is isolated from both Streotomyces orientalis and Nocardia lurida.[1]
