Description
- General description: 1-oleoyl(d7)-rac-glycerol (18:1-d7 MG) is a deuterated form of 18:1-MG, which is also called monoolein.[1]
- Application: 18:1-d7 MG or 1-oleoyl(d7)-rac-glycerol has been used as an isotope-labeled lipid standard for identification of lipids in mitochondria and lipid droplets samples using mass spectroscopy.[2] It has also been used as an internal standard in ultra-high-performance supercritical fluid chromatography with quadrupole-time-of-flight mass spectrometry (UHPSFC/QTOF-MS) for quantification of pulmonary artery lipids from porcine.[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Monoolein (18:1-MG ) serves as a substrate for the enzyme lipase[1] and is a useful lipid additive for meso crystallization and a stabilizer of the lipidic cubic phase (LCP).[4]
