- General description: 18:1 NBD PS is a fluorescent analog of phosphotidylserine (PS).[1] Phosphotidylserine is considered as a vital lipid and is found in the inner mitochondrial region.[2]
- Application: NBD PS might be suitable as a component in premixed lipid solution for V-SNARE (N-ethylmaleimide-sensitive factor attachment protein receptor) proteo-liposomes preparation.[3] It is also suitable for the preparation of control PS/PC (1-palmitoyl-2-oleoylsn-glycero-3-phospho-L-serine/1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-phosphocholine) liposomes.[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: 18:1 NBD PS is useful in labelling mitochondria.[1] Phosphotidylserine is associated with blood clotting mechanism.[2]
