Description

  • General description: Lipid peroxidation is the breakdown of lipids caused by oxidative damage, serving as a valuable marker for oxidative stress. Polyunsaturated lipids are particularly vulnerable to oxidative attack, often initiated by reactive oxygen species, triggering a well-defined chain reaction that yields key end products such as malondialdehyde (MDA). Uncontrolled lipid peroxidation has been implicated in the development of numerous diseases, including atherosclerosis, diabetes, and Alzheimer′s. The Lipid Peroxidation (MDA) Assay Kit is designed for measuring malondialdehyde (MDA) in a variety of samples including tissue, cells and plasma. Lipid peroxidation is determined by the reaction of MDA with thiobarbituric acid (TBA) to form a colorimetric (532 nm)/fluorometric (λex = 532/λem = 553 nm) product, proportional to the MDA present.
  • Features and Benefits: Highly sensitive, simple and high-throughput assay for measuring malondialdehyde (MDA) concentration. Supportive calculator will calculate the reagents needed according to your experimental needs, and analyze your results based on your experimental data.Click here to download a calculator excel file
  • Suitability: Suitable for the detection of malondialdehyde (MDA) in various biological samples such as cell and tissue culture, and plasma samples.
