- Application: Tetraglycol has been used:to dilute DiI (1,1′-dioctadecyl-3,3,3′3′-tetramethylindocarbocyanine perchlorate) for injecting fertilized chicken eggs for DiI labelingto dilute DiI (1,1′-dioctadecyl-3,3,3′3′-tetramethylindocarbocyanine perchlorate) and diO (3,3′-dioctadecyloxacarbocyanine perchlorate) for dye/virus injectionsto dilute poly (lactide-co-glycolide) (PLGA) to prepare PLGA/F127 solution
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Liquid glycofurol can readily transform into gel systems with excellent elasticity due to which, it can be used as a medium to dissolve water-insoluble drugs.
- Features and Benefits: Efficient solubilizer for glibenclamide (GBD)
- Caution: Do not confuse with tetraethylene glycol, which is also sometimes called tetraglycol.
