• Effectively carry out microbiological testing of cosmetics using Thermo Scientific™ Remel™ Letheen Agar Modified (Dehydrated)
• Weber and Black recommended the use of lecithin and polysorbate 80 to neutralize the antimicrobial action of quaternary ammonium compounds 1,2
• Letheen Agar Modified is based on the formula in the Bacteriological Analytical Manual for use in the microbiological testing of cosmetics 3
• It is recommended by the Association of Official Analytical Chemists (AOAC) for cultivation of microorganisms from cosmetic sampling 4

• Lecithin and polysorbate 80 partially inactivate quaternary ammonium compounds, phenolic compounds, formalin, hexachlorophene and ethanol
