• Selective : tergitol is a selective agent that inhibits the growth of the gram-positive organisms and Proteus Easy-to-read: appearance of yellow colonies on the medium by the microorganisms that ferment lactose due to the reaction of the brom thymol indicator Tergitol 7 Agar contains casein and meat peptone that provides nitrogen, amino acids and peptides necessary for bacterial growth
